Assign a General Task to the members who need it. Multiple technicians can be assigned to the same activity, so you can make a shared task such as Driving available to the relevant people across your team.
Technicians start activity tracking from the FieldTask mobile app. Open Timesheets, tap Start, and select an available General Task. Tracking begins immediately, making it straightforward to record time spent between or outside regular jobs.
When a technician checks into a customer job, FieldTask automatically stops the active General Task and checks them out of it. This keeps travel or other activity time separate from the time recorded against that individual job.
Manage General Tasks from a central list showing task names, numbers, assignees, types, and creation dates. Search for a task, filter the list by assignee, or open an existing task to update its details and assignments.

In the FieldTask web app, go to Jobs → General Tasks → Create General Task. Enter the task name and description, review the automatically generated number, assign the appropriate members, and click Create.
Yes. You can assign multiple members to a General Task. This makes it possible to set up one shared activity, such as Driving, and make it available to the technicians who need it.
In the mobile app, open Timesheets and tap Start. Select an activity from the drawer of available General Tasks. FieldTask begins tracking time against the selected activity immediately.
Checking into the job automatically stops the active General Task and checks the technician out of it. This separates the preceding activity’s time from the time tracked against the customer job.
Yes. Use the task search or assignee filter to find the activity you need. Open its edit control to review and update the name, number, description, or assigned members.
