How to Optimize a Route in FieldTask?

Learn how to create and manage an optimized route for assigned jobs from the FieldTask Web App.

To optimize a route in FieldTask:

• Go to Route Opt from the left sidebar under Routes and click Optimize Routes

• From the form that appears, choose the Assignee you want to optimize the route for.

• Select the jobs you want to include in the optimized route.
• Choose the Start Point and End Point.

For both the Start Point and End Point, you can choose from:

• Automatic
• Office Location
• Current Location
• User Home Location
• Custom Location
• One of the Chosen Jobs

If you choose a Start Point but do not select an End Point, you can choose to return to the Start Point after completing the last job instead.

You can also toggle Respect Appointment Times if you want the optimized route to keep jobs within their scheduled appointment windows.

• Click Optimize Selected Jobs to create the route.

View Your Optimized Route

Once the route has been created, it will appear on the Route Opt page with a detailed view of:

• Optimized Route on Map
• Route Summary, including:
• • Distance
  • Total Time
  • Stops

Add a Stop

If you need to add another stop to the route, click Add a Stop on the right-hand side of the map.

View the Full Map

Click Full Map to open a larger view of the optimized route.

View the Route in Google Maps

Click Google Map to open and view the optimized route in Google Maps.
