Learn about the different roles in FieldTask and the permissions available to Owners, Admins, and Members.

FieldTask provides three different roles for users in an Organization:

  • Owner
  • Admin
  • Member

Each role has different levels of access to Organization features.

Owner

The Owner is the user who created the Organization. They have the highest level of access and can manage both operational and financial aspects of the Organization.

Owners can:

  • Assign Jobs
  • Add Customers
  • View Timesheets
  • Manage Manual Timesheets
  • Raise Invoices
  • Invite Members
  • View Routes for everyone in the Organization
  • Edit the Organization
  • Archive the Organization
  • Delete the Organization

Admin

Admins have access similar to the Owner and can manage many of the same operational features.

However, Admins cannot manage the financial aspects of the Organization.

Member

Members have more limited access by default. Their primary job-management permissions allow them to:

  • Check In to Jobs
  • Check Out of Jobs

However, an Owner or Admin can give Members additional permissions.

Depending on the permissions granted, Members can also:

  • Add Manual Timesheets
  • Raise Invoices
  • Create Jobs

This permission structure allows Owners and Admins to control which features their Members can access while keeping higher-level Organization and financial controls restricted.
