Learn what each Job Status means and how a job moves through the different stages of its lifecycle.
A scheduled Job in FieldTask can move through several statuses depending on whether it has been scheduled, started, completed, or missed.
Unscheduled Jobs are jobs that have not yet been assigned a specific schedule.
They can come into FieldTask from:
Unscheduled Jobs can be found in:
A job becomes Scheduled once it has been assigned a schedule.
This means the job is ready to be worked on when its assigned date and time arrive.
A job becomes In Progress when an employee checks into it.
If multiple employees are assigned to the same job, the job will show as In Progress as soon as one employee checks in.
You can open the Job Details page to see which assigned employees have checked in and which have not.
A job becomes Completed when an employee finishes the work and checks out with the required Proof submitted.
If multiple employees are assigned to the same job, the job can show as Completed after one employee completes it. However, the other assigned employees can still check into the job from their respective accounts to begin their work.
A job becomes Missed when the assigned employees do not check into the job within the configured timeframe.
FieldTask also uses other statuses alongside the main Job Statuses.
The Late status is triggered when an employee checks into a job after its designated start time.
Pending is shown when a job has been completed but is still waiting for approval or rejection from an Admin or Owner.
Approved is shown when a completed job has been approved.
Rejected is shown when a completed job has been rejected.
In short, a job can progress from Unscheduled → Scheduled → In Progress → Completed, while Missed applies when the required check-in does not happen within the configured timeframe. Late, Pending, Approved, and Rejected provide additional information about the job's timing or approval state.
