Learn how to record the time you spend working on jobs and other work-related activities in FieldTask.

FieldTask gives you three ways to log your working hours:

  • Check into a Job
  • Add a Manual Timesheet
  • Check into a General Task

Check Into a Job

When you check into a Job using the FieldTask Mobile App, FieldTask automatically starts recording your Timesheet and Attendance.

The tracking continues until you check out of the Job.

This allows FieldTask to automatically record the amount of time you spent working on that specific job.

Add a Manual Timesheet

You can also manually record the time you spent working.

When adding a Manual Timesheet, you provide:

  • The Start Time
  • The End Time
  • The Job you worked on
  • A Note or Comment explaining why you needed to add the Manual Timesheet

FieldTask also allows you to add a Manual Timesheet without selecting a Job, which can be useful when the time you are recording is not associated with a specific job.

Check Into a General Task

General Tasks are designed for work that falls outside the scope of a specific Job.

For example, you may use a General Task to record time spent:

  • Driving to a job location
  • Making a supply run
  • Performing other work-related activities that are not part of a specific job

When you check into a General Task, FieldTask will record the time you spend on it just as it records time spent on a Job.

Together, these options allow you to record both job-specific work and other work-related activities throughout your day.
